Guillermo García Carsí (Madrid, 1974) In any of his many illustrations´ and characters´ mediums, the images come to life right from the first sketches. His maxim is to bestow them with personality so that they don’t remain void of character. This way, with mastery in drawing, all of his works—figurative or abstract, for children or adults—are filled with content, with plenty of expressiveness and a communication with the viewer. He is co-producer, director and screenwriter for the children’s television series “Pocoyo,” for Zinkia Entertainment. His International success has been recognised by a long list of prestigious awards: the ANNECY award for the Best Television Series; BAFTA for the Best Pre-school Series; SAN DIEGO FILM FESTIVAL for the Best Animated Series; CHUPETE award for the Best Children’s Mascot or the ZAPPING award for the Best Indie Production Animated Series. The series “Pocoyo” has also taken him to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Madrid’s Universidad Europea and Madrid’s Instituto Italiano de Diseño where he has held conferences and courses. He has worked as an illustrator for various producers. He has also been animator and producer for the Cartoon Network Spain, and has directed adverts for brands including Freixenet, Clesa, Mayoral and La Caixa. His filmografy includes the titles “Top Clerk,” as director and screenwriter, and “Loca bambola”, as co-director and screenwriter.
